The 7/4 favourite Jennyfromtheblock landed Limerick's maiden hurdle for unplaced horses, over two miles, three furlongs, in the hands of Mark Walsh.

The Harzand mare, fifth at Listowel on her previous outing, improved to lead travelling well on the approach to two out, but Walsh had to get serious with her after the last to fend off the persistent challenge of Born De Ceres by half a length.

"It was a good performance, she jumps brilliantly and I'm delighted for the Whites, who live locally in Adare,” said winning trainer Eric McNamara.

"Mark Walsh gave her a lovely solid ride, kept it very simple and she jumped from hurdle to hurdle. She stays really well and will get further in time.

"Martin (White) had her in training with Ian McCarthy when she won her point-to-point, and sent her to me afterwards. Hopefully she can build on this."
