Jockey performs miraculous recovery to win point to point Amateur rider Michael Sweeney starred at Killeagh point-to-point on Sunday with a miraculous recovery to not only stay aboard his mount Ask Heather — but also to win. Sweeney rode the mare for Declan Queally at the meeting at Boulta in County Cork — and went right through the top of the final fence, having stood some way off it. The jockey was virtually flung over his mount’s head on landing, and was then clinging on for all he was worth before defying gravity to incredibly regain his place in the saddle and go on to conjure up victory. Social media was abuzz with his exploits, with many people calling it the “recovery of the season”.
