Joseph Hartnett rides second winner on Sinbad My Dad Joseph Harnett rode the second winner of his fledgling career when making most of the running on the Seamus Fahey trained Sinbad My Dad to land the BoyleSports Lengthen The Odds Handicap at Leopardstown. In front after a furlong, the young Limerick man judged the fractions to perfection on the four-year-old, taking lengths out of his rivals at every stage of the race. Pushed along entering the straight, the 20/1 outsider kicked from the front over a furlong out. Rampage and Medieval Night briefly looked to threaten but neither could get to the winner, who found again close home. Medieval Night eventually stayed on to finish second, with Rampage back in third. Seamus Fahey said: “He ran well in Killarney the last day and he’s come on from that run. We were a bit concerned about the ground, but he did run a good race last year on good to firm ground in Fairyhouse and the form of that race worked out well. “I didn’t think from the front was the way to do it, but he broke well from a bad draw and got into a nice position. He let him bowl along rather than disappoint him and he made the right decision.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee.
