Journey strikes again at Curragh Unique Journey bagged his fourth course success with a cosy win in the Ryans Cleaning Race at the Curragh. The Danny Murphy-trained gelding tracked the leaders in the seven furlong contest before hitting the front going to the furlong pole. He soon asserted, under Gary Carroll, to record a length-and-three-quarter victory at odds of 4/1. All three of his previous wins at the course had come at six furlongs. “He’s a grand old horse. He’s in a Listed race next Saturday at Doncaster but he is ground dependent, he loves the soft and grows a leg on it,” said Murphy. “He loves this place as well. I have to thank Richie Brophy, who is the grounds manager here. He said he’d get away with it, because they know the old horse. He said there was still plenty of yielding to soft in it. “I know we were going seven but he was second in the big one at Galway over seven to Dunum. I said that he went up the hill in Galway so he’d surely get seven here. “It’s to be really dry next week in England. Doncaster last week was heavy and I’m hoping. I’ve a few friends who live around there so I’ll get them to walk the track and see.”
