Kairyu a doubt for Cheveley Park Michael O'Callaghan's unbeaten filly Kairyu could miss the Group 1 Cheveley Park at Newmarket next Saturday, but is still in the running for a crack at the Breeders' Cup in Santa Anita. She took the honours in a fillies' maiden at Naas in June and swiftly followed up in the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh in July. "She was supposed to run in the Cheveley Park next Saturday, but just not happy with her last bit of work - just found a little issue, a bit of an infection, so she possibly won't go to the Cheveley Park which is very disappointing," O'Callaghan said. "She is very, very talented and we are going to take our time. We might come back here for the Legacy (Listed race over five furlongs in Dundalk on October 6th), but she is going to have a Group 3 penalty there. "The plan was the Cheveley Park and then the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf, but if she comes here and is fit and well runs well, we might consider it (Breeders' Cup)."
