Kashel Spring readily justifies market support Well-supported into 3/1, from early shows of 13/2, Kashel Spring made the breakthrough in the Tote Never Beaten By SP Maiden. An eye-catching sixth on debut at Gowran in April, but failing to make an impact in three starts since, the Joseph O'Brien-trained bay was settled in mid-division this evening, taking closer order on the outer with three-furlongs to go. Pushed along to lead approaching the straight, the 69-rated victor was ridden and readily stretched clear from the furlong pole, ultimately coming home five-lengths to the good under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Well-supported into 5/2 favouritism (from 7/2), Minella Study filled the runner-up spot under Sean Bowen for his uncle John Nallen, while the front-running Faire La Nouba (15/2 from 5/2 early) was a short head back in third. "It was good. She's been progressing with experience. She had a nice run the last day in Leopardstown, she came home well after breaking slow," the winning rider reflected. "She put herself in a good position today and I had a good pace to aim at. I just kept it smooth on her, she went through the gears nicely. She's still learning so hopefully more to come. "We were confident she would take a step forward and be competitive. There's a little ease in the ground here today as well which definitely helped. "She's a very straightforward filly. She has a good attitude and she tries, hopefully she keeps on improving." STEWARDS REPORT * P.A. Harnett, rider of Show Your Workings, trained by Sean Davis, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount broke a shade awkward from the gates. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
