Kazeem ruled out of Ascot Roger Charlton has ruled out a trip to Royal Ascot with Al Kazeem after the horse suffered a leg injury when winning at the Curragh last month. The seven-year-old was one of the leading contenders for the Prince of Wales's Stakes after landing the Tattersalls Gold Cup, but he will now miss both that race and the Coral-Eclipse in July. His trainer told www.rogercharlton.com: "Al Kazeem returned from Ireland with an injury to his foreleg, which will rule out the Prince of Wales's at Royal Ascot, and the Eclipse, but it is hoped that he will return for an autumn campaign." Charlton added: "It is huge shame, as he would have had a great chance in both races, but he will only run when we are 100% happy with him. He deserves that."
