Kempton and Bangor get go ahead The National Hunt meetings in Britain at Kempton and Bangor both got the go ahead this morning. Kempton clerk of the course Barney Clifford had planned to walk the track at 8am but he brought that check forward. He said: "I left it late because of the forecast really but everything is fine here and racing goes ahead." Bangor cancelled their planned 8am inspection. Clerk of the course Ed Gretton was concerned by the prospect of overnight frost and although the temperature did dip below freezing, it is already warming up at the North Wales venue. "There are no problems, everything is fine. We cancelled the inspection as it didn't get any lower than -1C," said Gretton. Hopes are rising that Saturday's meeting at Ayr could get the go-ahead after officials delayed their planned inspection. Clerk of the course Hazel Peplinski was forced to abandon Friday's meeting due to frost and she had initially called a 3.30pm inspection to assess conditions for Saturday. However, after a milder than expected night, Peplinski has put back that inspection to 6.45am on Saturday. Officials at Newbury are extremely optimistic their valuable meeting on Saturday will go ahead. The fixture features the totesport Trophy Hurdle as well as the expected reappearance of Denman and Master Minded. Covers have protected the track from frost and will only be removed on Saturday morning.
