Our Uncle Jack was an all-the-way winner in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse to seal a treble for Michael Kenneally. Verbal Sparring tried hard in second to catch the leader, but Our Uncle Jack readily outgunned him on the run-in as he stayed on well to draw 10 lengths clear.

The winner was supported from 10/3 to 15/8 joint favourite while the runner-up was an 11/1 chance. Galavanting George rounded out the places a length further back in third at 20/1.

Kenneally's other winners came on Don Jefe (16/1) and Themanintheanorak (7/2). The treble paid almost 219/1.

Martin Fitzgerald said: “He’s in great form. My son Danny rides him out every day at home and he actually rang Michael Kenneally from his hospital bed as he got a bad fall in a point-to-point on Sunday. He broke ribs and punctured a lung and broke his ankle. He gave Michael his instructions and it was nice to win for him.

“He takes a bit of a pull and he settled away there in front today. He actually maybe settled a bit better today, he was a bit fresh the last day.

“Danny has a lot of jumping done with him over fences, and he’s quite good. He was actually going to ride him in a chase at Cork, but got another fall schooling.

“He went to Clonmel after he didn’t run in that chase.”

Our Uncle Jack won by a whopping 23 lengths on his penultimate start in Clonmel last month.

Kenneally rode out his 7lb claim on Cousin Kate at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown on Sunday, but was still able to utilise that allowance on these booked rides.
