Kilashee makes all for eighth career victory Habitual front-runner Kilashee (13/8 fav) is always a dangerous opponent when getting loose on the lead and she kept up the gallop to easily win the Guinness Mares Handicap Hurdle at Galway.  Soon clear under rising star Michael Kenneally, her lead was reduced on the run downhill to the second-last as a couple of rivals closed but she pinged the last two flights and came home 11 lengths ahead of Grace Faraday. The 10-year-old by Oscar was winning for the fifth time over hurdles and she has also won three chases. Owner/trainer John Ryan said: "She is a great mare but we had problems with her earlier in the year when we couldn't get her right. She seemed to bounce back with her run at Roscommon though. "She came home a little sore from her run on quick ground in Kilbeggan during the summer, as she loves to get her toe in. "Michael is a good lad and cost me a race in Killarney only two days ago, when he beat my horse Zolpharine into second. He rode his first winner for me yesterday on Flidais in Tipperary." Regarding a recent setback, Ryan added "I had sepsis recently but got over it thank God. It is not a nice thing to get but I'm a hardy oul' lad!" Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
