Kinane Deserves Due Respect At Naas On Wednesday

Naas stages a six-race card on Wednesday evening where the first is due off at 6.30.

Michael Kinane is a significant booking for Due Respect in the opening Finance Business Handicap.

The Dessie Hughes-trained 4yo has gone up 9lbs for landing a 7 furlong handicap at the Curragh last time but is unlikely to be inconvenienced by the drop back to 6f here.

Kinane could go on to record a double aboard the John Oxx-trained newcomer Diplomats Daughter in the mile maiden where there is very little worthwhile form to consider.

Aidan O’Brien’s Grand Reward ran poorly at Royal Ascot but looks sure to start at cramped odds in the featured Madra Dog Food Race.

He finished second to Leitrim House in the Group 3 Tetrarch Stakes in early May and a reproduction of that form will make him very hard to beat here.

The concluding handicap over a mile is an open race in which Harry Rogers’ Fit The Cove makes plenty of each-way appeal. He ran a cracker when second over this trip at Bellewstown last week and with a little improvement looks sure to go close.
