King Johns a possible for Navan on Saturday

The Arthur Moore trained King Johns Castle, runner-up in last season's John Smith's Grand National, may reappear at Navan this weekend.

The 10yo grey gelding was initially ruled out for the campaign with a tendon injury but he made a quicker than expected recovery and a return to Aintree is now back on the agenda.

He holds an entry in the Athboy Hurdle on Saturday and ground conditions will dictate whether or not he lines up.

"Obviously we're pleased he came back to himself quicker than expected and everything seems fine with him," said Moore.

"He's quite forward but the main objective is just to get a run into him and that will either be this weekend or the following weekend.

"I wouldn't want to run him on heavy ground and the conditions will probably be the deciding factor as to whether he runs this weekend or the following weekend."
