La La Lucrative lands Listowel handicap La La Lucrative (15/2) made a winning reappearance this year today, landing Listowel’s €12,000 James Collins Memorial Handicap for trainer Matthew Smith, jockey Robbie Colgan and owner Shay Gillen. Out of mare Ohlala and by stallion Profitable, La La Lucrative had previously scored at Leicester in 2024 and at Roscommon last May, and today was having his first start since December. Racing behind the leaders, the five-year-old quickened away from his rivals in the home straight and scored easily by 4.75 lengths from Ukiyo . Smith stated “he had has a break and came back in good old form. Robbie (Colgan) said the ground and track suited him and he settled away in behind the leaders. I was hoping he’d run well and it worked out ideally. “He wasn’t really settling last year but he settled today. We’ll go for something similar again next.”
