La Tulipe Noire takes the last under O'Gorman for King Owned and trained by Aengus King, La Tulipe Noire ended a lengthy losing streak when claiming the last at Cork, the Follow Us On X Handicap. With her only previous success coming back in December of 2022, the Berkshire five-year-old was beaten in 27 subsequent starts and was sent off a 16/1 chance this afternoon. Dominating this mile contest with Micasso, the pair continued their tussle all the way up the straight, with the Jessica O'Gorman ridden victor ultimately pulling out that bit more in the closing stages, prevailing by half-a-length. From 22s early, the runner-up was returned at 9/1 under Rory Cleary for Donal Kinsella, with Vierson (7/1) finishing well to take third, another three-quarters of a length away. Successful at Dundalk on Friday, Famous Enough was returned the 3/1 favourite and finished sixth. "We had the best pilot (Seamie Heffernan) on board the last day and afterwards he said she should win a race. He said she wasn't giving 100 percent but we knew that, as she works like a better horse at home," King reflected. "When you come to the races, you leave disappointed, but we were hoping she would put in a good show today. "She comes into season an awful lot but she travelled and seems to be ok today. Jessica was very good on her as I thought we had it lost after the bend but when she got after her, the mare put in a genuine run. "We are over the moon with this and have five in training and all have won. We're a stable going full whack!" STEWARDS REPORTS * The Raceday Stewards granted a request from S.P Davis, trainer of Venetian, for an additional 10 minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Veterinary Officer as required under Rule 90(i). * The Raceday Stewards interviewed Jessica O'Gorman, rider of La Tulipe Noire, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that it was a misjudgement on her behalf. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that, Jessica O' Gorman, was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended her for two racedays. * The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Super Over, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
