Landseer wins French 2000 Guineas Aidan O`Brien added to his classic tally by taking this afternoon`s Gainsborough Poule d`Essai des Poulains at Longchamp with Landseer.The Mick Kinane-ridden colt burst through the pack to take up the running around a furlong and a half from home and he ran on well to land a convincing victory from Medecis, with Bowman back in third.Godolphin`s runner Firebreak, ridden by Frankie Dettori, finished fourth but was demoted to sixth after the stewards ruled he had hampered Paul Cole`s Guys And Dolls in running.Landseer was third behind Bowman and Medecis in the Prix De Fontainbleau on his last outing and Kinane said: 'He has improved a lot for his last run.'English raider Zenda, trained by John Gosden, took the honours in the Gainsborough Poule d`Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas).Gosden`s runner broke well and made virtually all at the French track, holding on gamely in the final stages of the race as Firth Of Lorne, under Dettori, threw down a late challenge on the rails.O`Brien`s hope Sophisticat eventually finished third after breaking through the pack, but she could not get on terms with the leading duo.Act One furthered his French Derby claims with an impressive win in the Group One Prix Lupin.The Jonathan Pease-trained colt took up the running from pacemaker Temple Of Artemis turning into the home straight and he stretched out well to win by two lengths from Secret Singer.O`Brien`s main hope Ballingarry turned in a disappointing performance to finish sixth and Kinane said: 'That run was too bad to true.'
