Last to first as Kilt scores for Tralee jockey Sugrue Tralee born jockey Ross Sugrue was amongst the winners when coming from last to first on the Philip Rothwell trained Kilt to land the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Listowel. Held up towards rear of the 13 runners, the 9/1 chance hadn't a single rival behind him entering the home straight. Pushed along approaching two out, the son of Kingman went second at the final flight. Staying on best on the run-in, Kilt led close home to beat favourite Kilbrin Rocco by half-a-length. Philip Rothwell said: "I gave Ross his first point-to-point and racecourse winners, and approached him a couple of months ago to turn professional and to join me. "Today, I said we would put some finesse into him and told him to ride him stone-last, but to count to 3 before even thinking about challenging. When I came in, I asked Ross did he could to 3, and he said 'no, I counted to 10!'. "It is brilliant and special for Ross to ride a winner here, as he is from Tralee." (Quotes by Thomas Weekes).
