Lossiemouth was far from troubled in bringing up her eighth Grade 1 victory in the Morgiana Hurdle over an extended two-miles at Punchestown.

She went off at 1/5 to account for her three rivals and Paul Townend decided to keep it simple by sending her on from flagfall.

There was one minor blip four out, but she readily asserted two out and moved clear approaching the final quarter of a mile.

The popular grey mare popped the last and glided in by a whopping 19 lengths from Glen Kiln who tried hard in second.

This was her third top-level success in a row following on from the Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and the Aintree Hurdle in April.

Willie Mullins said: “She was very good. The race was run at an even pace on heavy ground and she did what she needed to do.

“We weren’t going to hold her up today. I didn’t see any point in holding her (up) for the race that was in it. We let her out to gallop, see how she is, and put her right for the next time.

“They didn’t go anything like the pace they went at Kempton last year, but we don’t want to light her up too much. As a four-year-old she was way too free.

“Leopardstown at Christmas would look the obvious place to go.

“She fell there before and took a chance at the fourth last today, but hopefully she doesn’t do something like that again.

“We were very disappointed with Irancy (in remote fourth). Mark (Walsh) said the ground when he came in, but I don’t think so. He was beaten way too early.

“The plan is for Anzadam to go to Newcastle (Fighting Fifth) next Saturday. I hear Golden Ace is going to go there and with Constitution Hill and The New Lion it is going to be a hell of a race.”

Lossiemouth gave Willie Mullins and Paul Townend a double having nearly scored with Kitzbuhel in the beginners' chase.

Paddy Power kept Lossiemouth unchanged at 7/2 joint favourite for the Champion Hurdle and 11/4 favourite for the Mares' Hurdle.
