Leopardstown’s opening-day fixture of the Dublin Racing Festival will have to pass an inspection at 2.30pm today, with parts of the track again being unfit for racing due to waterlogging.

The racecourse has been badly hit by heavy rainfall in recent days and a further 22mm arrived in the last day, with parts of the hurdle course being unfit for racing this morning.

There has been 193mm of rain at the track in the past fortnight, with a possibility of a further 10-20mm on Saturday. The going on the chase track is described as soft to heavy.
