Lincolnshire conditions to suit Queen Tom Cleary feels a nice cut in the ground will play to the strengths of Queen Of Alba in the Tote Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh on Sunday. The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar was bought for only €800 by her connections and enjoyed a terrific campaign last season with three wins. She went up 23lb in the course of the year and rounded off in style with a fine fourth-placed effort in the Listed Trigo Stakes at Leopardstown. "She's going to run at the Curragh and she is in good form," said Cleary. "It looks like the ground is going to be OK. I was talking to Pat Kelly (manager of the Curragh training grounds) this morning and he said it was yielding at the moment and will be probably be yielding to soft come Sunday. "That should suit, as she goes well with a cut in the ground, so we'll take our chance. "She had a great season last year and ended up with a good run at Leopardstown. "If we can get a bit of black-type for her she would probably go breeding then."
