Love Me Tender completes doubles for Mullins & Cobden After Roc Dino’s win in the Listed novice hurdle, Love Me Tender (Evens favourite) completed a quick double in Cork’s black type races for trainer Willie Mullins as he made all in the Paddy Power Betting Shops Irish EBF Novice Chase The Doctor Dino gelding, owned by J.P.McManus, built on his Listowel beginners; chase victory to take this Grade 3 contest, run over two and a half miles, in good style. Giving 6lb to the winner after a Grade 3 success at Gowran, Franke John gave chase to the winner for three out but could make no impression as Harry Cobden’s mount scored readily by 15 lengths. Cobden, doubling up himself after Cornelienne in the mares’ maiden hurdle, said "He is only a small horse, but jumped well and was very brave. At some of the fences he could have popped away, but had a good cut instead. He is clever enough, he needs to be, and did what he had to do. "There wasn't much speed, so I left him roll along and although it's only his third run over fences, he is straightforward and nearly rides like a handicapper. "I don't know the Irish programme book well enough to comment on plans, so I'll leave that to Willie. Good ground is key to him though and I'm not sure if he'd want it too soft, which would be my only worry for the winter." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
