Lupini doubles up with Shay Cousin Shay led his rivals a merry dance as he claimed the second division of the mile handicap at Dundalk, giving trainer Natalia Lupini a double on the card. Leigh Roche had his mount in front after a furlong and the Cotai Glory gelding had his rivals at work early in the straight. The 11/4 favourite was asked for an effort over a furlong from home and stayed on strongly in the closing stages to score by three-and-a-half lengths from Free Solo. Cousin Shay was making it two from three since joining Lupini. The Armagh-based handler had also won the earlier fillies maiden with Powerful Lady. She said: "That was the plan to jump out and try to keep it simple. He's not short of pace and everything went smooth for him today. "He seems a happy horse at home and Christine rides him and gets a good tune out of him. "He looked pretty competitive off that mark on his homework, so we are happy with him. "He's in again for Tuesday over 1m2f but, at the same time, Leigh was saying he is not short of pace. He looked good over a mile showing plenty of speed, so we will see how he is over the weekend and we will decide then." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
