Lynam has big plans for Emperor

Eddie Lynam is hoping for a profitable season with French Emperor, who is due to run in the opening conditions race at Navan on Sunday.

The Dunshaughlin trainer has marked out the Tattersalls Sales Race at Fairyhouse in September as the long-term target for the son of Holy Roman Emperor.

The colt made a big impression at Leopardstown last Sunday when taking his maiden in style and Lynam is hopeful he can progress into a smart performer.

"He's in good order. The race on Sunday comes fairly soon after last week and we'll just see how he is over the weekend," said Lynam.

"I have a race in mind for him at Naas on Monday June 6th - a Listed contest over six for colts and geldings.

"It's hard to know what he beat last week but he won it very well.

"His big aim for the season is the Tattersalls Sales race. There is plenty of prizemoney available so it's worth aiming for."
