Lynch looking forward to Betfair Chase Andrew Lynch will bid for his first Grade One triumph on British soil when he gets the leg up on Jim Dreaper's Notre Pere in the Betfair Chase at Haydock. The 25-year-old jockey may not be one of the headline names in his native Ireland just yet but has certainly made himself known over the past couple of seasons, thanks in no small part to his mount tomorrow. Notre Pere has given him notable success in the Coral Welsh National and in the Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup. This season he has teamed up with ante-post Arkle Trophy favourite Sizing Europe and rode his first Cheltenham winner on Loosen My Load at last week's Open meeting. Lynch suffered some serious injuries in a fall at Ballinrobe last year and admits success in this weekend's feature would be a brilliant achievement for all concerned - especially with Kauto Star standing in his way. "I'm really looking forward to it and the way it's looking at the moment, the ground looks as though it should be in our favour," said Lynch. "He was still going well when he fell at Down Royal the last day but it was still a long way out, so it is difficult to say whether he'd have won or not. "Kauto Star is obviously going to be tough to beat, but you should never be afraid of one horse. "It would have been better if our horse had had a proper race in Down Royal, but he seems to have come out of it in good form and it would be fantastic if he could go and win at Haydock."
