Ger Lyons admits the rest of the season will be a bonus for Lily's Angel after she claimed her first Group Three win at Lingfield

Now a winner of 10 of her 21 races, that was her first at Pattern level and Lyons will raise her sights in the hope she can reach even greater heights after her win in the Chartwell Stakes, with the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Windsor Forest) at Royal Ascot next.

"The plan was always to win a Group Three with her this season so now we've done that we can aim at the stars," said Lyons.

"She's in other Group Three's and I'm not turning my nose up at them, but we can afford to look at races like the Windsor Forest, a Grade One at Del Mar and the Matron Stakes.

"We got away with the ground a little, the rain came an hour before which wasn't ideal but she outstayed them in the end.

"In hindsight, Lingfield probably wasn't the track to run her over seven furlongs on as they went very quick early but her stamina came into play. She's improving all the time and anything over seven furlongs or a mile is for her.

"She deserves to run in the Windsor Forest, but I imagine we'll be taking on Duntle who's a Group One winner without a penalty.

"Since she joined me she's lost twice, in the nine-furlong Balanchine (at Meydan) which was too far for her and once in awful ground in the Gladness Stakes - she's won every other race.

"The Del Mar race is on turf but it's not like Dubai where your travel is paid for, the owners would have to pay and it would probably cost us our chance in the Matron as they are close together."
