Lyons weighs up Lightening options Ger Lyons is considering the options for Lightening Pearl following her fine placed effort on Sunday. The two-year-old filly put up a good effort to take minor honours behind the impressive Maybe in the Group Two Debutante Stakes at the Curragh. Lyons is now thinking of taking Lightening Pearl back to the County Kildare track for the C. L. Weld Park Stakes next month or for the Listed Irish Field Blenheim Stakes. "She's come out of it well and has been out in the paddock," said the County Meath trainer. "She's a good, honest filly. It's a shame she didn't hang on to second, but she did what we thought she would do. "She won't be going for the Moyglare. There's no point taking on the likes of Maybe again. "There's a couple of options coming up. She might go for the Weld Park a Group Three at the Curragh over seven, but there's no definite plan. "She's done what I've asked her and she'll tell when she wants to go. It will obviously be a Pattern race and we'll take it from there. "There's a couple of Listed races as well like the Blenheim over six that I could even go to and I'd have no issues going back to the trip."
