Madden makes a winning return

Salesin made it three wins from four starts at Wexford when winning the second race on this evenings card the Black Point Handicap Hurdle for the father & son pair of Niall ‘Boots’ Madden & Niall ‘Slippers’ Madden.

The Lomitas gelding put in an excellent front running performance to beat off all challengers to score by a comfortable six lengths at the finish from Red Key back in second.

The versatile 16/1 winner won a novice chase last July and a 2m flat handicap back in '08 at the South East venue and obviously has a fondness for the track.

The winning trainer stated afterwards “That was great. I’m happy for the young lad as I wanted him to come back today. He has been a good old money spinner and he won three on the bounce last year.

"He’ll mix it now for the rest of the summer.”

The winning rider was having his first ride in almost six weeks having suffered head injuries from a fall off Bella Mana Mou in the Leinster National at Naas.
