Jockey Kevin Manning completed a treble at Dundalk today as he steered Mainicin to win the Winter Series At Dundalk 2018 Handicap, to provide his father-in-law, trainer Jim Bolger with a double on the day.

Daughter of Teofilo, Mainicin, a 20/1 shot, was today claiming her sixth career win and a third course success, when beating Johann Bach by half a length.

Manning had earlier won the opening two races, on the Peter Fahey trained Canford Art and with Bolger's Theobald .

Following Mainicin's win, Ger Flynn, Bolger's travelling head man, said “that's her sixth win and her third win up here. She's tough and consistent and we like her a lot. Hopefully she can come back up here after the New Year and continue on.

“She's made the running to win a few times but can be ridden any way and is very versatile.”
