Makfi options

Mikel Delzangles has still to decide where his brilliant colt Makfi will run next.

The 2000 Guineas winner banished the memory of a poor run in the St James's Palace Stakes by beating top older horses Goldikova and Paco Boy in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.

His options are either the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp or another crack at Canford Cliffs in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.

The score between the two stands at one all and the winner would surely be crowned champion three-year-old miler.

"He has been very well since the Jacques le Marois," said Delzangles.

"He came out of the race very well but we still don't know where he is going to run next.

"There are two serious options for him. He will either run in the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp (September 5) or the QEII at Ascot (September 25).

"I think he has grown and changed since the Guineas. He has really grown up now. He is good looking and he is so easy to train too.

"He won on soft ground at Deauville and fast ground in the Guineas so I don't think the ground will ever be an excuse."
