Martello delights Mullins Mags Mullins was "delighted" with the chasing debut of Martello Tower at Navan last weekend. A Cheltenham Festival scorer as a novice hurdler in the 2015 Albert Bartlett, he was winless in three outings last season. Making his fencing bow over two miles and a furlong - a distance short of his best - Martello Tower performed with great credit to be beaten just three-quarters of a length by Anibale Fly. "I was delighted with his run at Navan," said Mullins. "Two miles would have been too short for him but he jumped great, and it was a lovely start over fences. "He had a few hiccups last year but hopefully he will enjoy a good season now. "He's in the Drinmore but he could go to Fairyhouse for a two-mile-six beginners' chase."
