Massive gamble on ex-Irish gelding at Towcester Jeu De Roseau has been the subject of a huge gamble throughout the day ahead of his first start for over two years when he contests a handicap hurdle at Towcester this evening. Jeu De Roseau began his career in Ireland when trained by Ken Condon and later joined Dessie Hughes before heading to England where he first raced under the care of Barney Curley. The gelded son of Montjeu has been backed from 25/1 into Evens in places and two Irish firms, Boylesports and Paddy Powers have suspended betting on the race. Jeu De Roseau ran the Aidan O'Brien trained Yellowstone to a length on his racecourse debut at Cork in July 2006 and later started favourite to beat Won In The Dark in a 3-y-o hurdle at Roscommon the following year when finishing a respectable third. Denis O'Regan has been given the task of steering the 6-y-o to victory off bottom weight this evening.
