Maximillian Lady an emphatic winner of mares' bumper Cormac Farrell's Maximillian Lady (7/2) absolutely ran away with the mares' bumper at Galway under a patient and confident Tommy Halford. The jockey bided his time on the daughter of Maxios who made progress into third on the climb for home. She then made rapid headway to rocket into the lead into the straight and galloped right away for an impressive 13-length success. Courtmac Gesture (25/1) won the race for second and was a length and a-quarter in front of Evelyn also at 25/1. Maximillian Lady had finished runner-up in a Ballinrobe bumper on racecourse debut last month. This was a second racecourse success for Halford who said: “She did everything easy and went through the race very well. She quickened right up to the line, it was impressive. “She had a lovely run first time, I probably didn’t get the light I wanted when I needed it. She definitely improved again off it.” Newcomer Runaway Rosie went off a well-backed 4/7 favourite, but never looked comfortable and trailed home 15th. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
