McCourt's newcomer lands the bumper at 50/1 The Castlestone Holiday Homes (Pro/Am) Flat Race at Punchestown produced a 50/1 winner in the shape of Dee Bee Zed who came from off the pace under Eoghan Finegan to make a winning debut. A son of Glenagles out of a Dubawi mare, the five-year-old was settled in mid-division in the two-mile contest before making steady headway approaching the straight and led over a furlong out to beat Which Flannerys by two and three-quarter lengths.  Winning trainer Tom McCourt enthused “I thought he was a lovely horse, everything he does, he does really well. “This time last year I didn’t think he’d survive, he had a bad stomach problem and was on the verge on being put down. The vets didn’t think he’d come right. “Peter (Jordan) threw him out in the field and tried to get him eating again, he just fell away to nothing. It’s incredible that he’s here. “He’s a lovely horse and bred in the purple. He’s a lovely, big, galloping horse. “I knew he was ready to run well, we had him up in Dundalk and he did a few nice bits of work. “He was still a bit green and I said if he finished in the first six or seven I’d be happy. “He’s going to improve plenty from that, for experience.” When asked if he could run on the Flat, he added “He could, over a trip. He’d definitely be up to that, but we’ll see how he is after this.”  Additional reporting by Gary Carson
