Willie McCreery and Billy Lee double up when Sceolan held on by a nose at the end of five furlongs in race two.

This contest was over the flying five furlongs and Sceolan came with her run to lead approaching the final 100 yards.

She was soon strongly pressed by Gobi Star and the pair flashed past the post together with Sceolan getting the verdict by the minimum margin.

She was returned the 2/1 favourite from the 7/2 runner-up. Aurora Nova (33/1) was a length and a quarter back in third.

McCreery said: "Billy gave her a great ride and I thought we were actually done on the line, so happy days!

"She has plenty of ability as you saw there. She shot to the front and, when she hits the front, she parks. She did that in Tipperary but we were very lucky to hold on, I think.

"She's a well-bred filly by Churchill and is a lovely-looking filly. She has been a bit unlucky and she minds herself. She loves racing and she is clever, but she will come on from that.

"I thought she ran a very good race on the first day of the year in a handicap in the Curragh. Then she disappointed a few times.

"You have to keep the revs up the whole time or she falls asleep on you.

"It has been a great day and a great day for Billy, so I'm delighted."

McCreery and Lee took the opener through well supported 11/10 favourite Ocean Jewel
