McDermott injury update Sean McDermott suffered a crushed vertabrae following a heavy first fence fall from Curragh Grey in the three mile handicap chase at Listowel yesterday. McDermott crushed his T7 vertabrae and is expected to be out of action for some weeks but a right knee injury sustained in the fall in not thought to be too serious. McDermott, who had been enjoying a successful season with seven winners and was earlier runner-up aboard Leblon in the featured Lartigue Hurdle, is reportedly comfortable in Tralee hospital.
