McGuinness quartet set for Sovereign Path Ado McGuinness is aiming for a healthy share of the €150,000 prize money on offer in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Sovereign Path' Handicap at Leopardstown tomorrow as he fields four of his premier handicappers. This valuable seven furlong handicap is the second race tomorrow on opening day of Irish Champions Weekend. The trainer said: "I have four in tomorrow, I couldn't get any more in! "There is a little bit of ease in the ground which will help them. "Current Option is top weight, but top weights have a good record in that race. He is a previous winner and I think he'll run a big race. "Sirjack Thomas is there and Pierre Lapin and Spanish Tenor are fishing around. They'll run well and all go there with chances." Current Option won this race in 2019 for McGuinness. He landed the Ahonoora Handicap at the Galway Festival for the third time in a row this year. He was due to carry 10 stone in this assignment, however, Cian MacRedmond claims 5lb.
