McKiernan doubles up at rainy Kilbeggan with Warmer Days Ahead Warmer Days Ahead justified good support in the Clarke’s Bar Mullingar Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan, giving Oliver McKiernan and Phillip Enright a double on the card. The Waldpark gelding was pulled up, over fences, at Down Royal last time but better was expected today as he was backed from 20/1 into 11/1. Enright produced his mount to challenge over the last, in the two-mile-three, contest and he stayed on best in the closing stages to beat Blue Reed by a length-and-a-half. The same colours had also been carried to success by Chemdawg two races earlier and McKiernan said:- "I'd say we'll race nowhere else only Kilbeggan! “This horse bled before and I was concerned. I was hoping that he'd come home without bleeding today and that if he did, he was going out for the next 12 months. “Thank God it's totally different and his nose is clean as a whistle. I think he'll be a far better horse when he jumps a fence. Hopefully he'll stay sound. “He's been around our house a good while now and he hasn't done too much yet. “I think I said to the wife before I left 'you could have a fiver on him maybe each-way for the craic.
