Sent off the 7/2 favourite, Light In The Dark gave Joseph O’Brien a treble at Gowran Park when taking the concluding handicap over just short of one mile, six furlongs under Declan McDonogh.

The Camelot mare, owned by J.P. McManus, won three times last year, including twice in bumpers, and was third at the Galway festival.

She made light of having been off since August when cruising into the lead on the stands’ side over two furlongs out and just needing to be nudged out to score by a length and a-quarter from Zanahiyr

Winning trainer Joseph O’Brien said “She’s a nice filly, she had some good runs.

“She went through the race well and got a good set-up. She’ll probably go up in class now.

“She’s probably going to go into a premier handicap of some sort. She was 81 there today and she might be mid-80s, so that’ll sneak her into a nice race now, I’d say.

“She won on quick ground up the north one day and it was unraceable when she won her bumper, so she’s versatile. I’d say she doesn’t want it too quick, though.

“I’d say she’ll be going over hurdles sooner rather than later, probably after Punchestown.”

O'Brien, who runs Banbridge and Jordans in Saturday's Grand National, had been on the mark earlier with Sinmara and Sindria
