Ronan McNally has had a profitable week in Britain with The Jam Man, who followed up Monday's saunter around Southwell with another clear-cut victory in Cartmel today.

Aidan Coleman was on board again for this handicap chase and the 4/6 favourite drew eight lengths clear on the run-in to win eased down for the Co Armagh handler.

The pair also won a novices' handicap chase in Southwell by seven lengths to justify 9/4 favouritism, backed from as big as 14/1 in the morning.

The six-year-old gelding now has seven career victories, all of which have come in Britain.

“I don’t think the track suited him but the handicapper put me up 16lb from the last day so I had to run him, he should be out eating grass really,” McNally told Racing TV.

“For good measure, the handicapper has given me it (penalty) over hurdles for the last day, so I have him in over hurdles at the end of the week and it just depends how he comes out (of this).

“He might have to go there too, but if he doesn’t he’ll go to the grass.”

Co Derry based handler Gary McGill sent Dollys Destination across the water to contest the opening mares' novice hurdle on the Cartmel card.

She was heavily backed from 10/11 to 4/9 favourite, but could make no impression in second on the winner See The Sea who made all.
