Andrew McNamara will have his last ride at Tramore this evening before he quits the saddle to embark upon a training career.

The 32-year-old had been expected to call time on his career at Tramore on Sunday, but he will now retire after riding the Shark Hanlon-trained Most Honourable in the Midge Nolan Memorial Handicap Hurdle at 7.25pm.

"I'm not riding at Tramore on Sunday now so tonight will be it," said McNamara.

A 15-times Grade One-winning rider, the County Limerick pilot famously enjoyed victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase when Newmill scored for John Joseph Murphy at Cheltenham in 2006.

Other big wins came on the likes of Beef Or Salmon, Sizing Europe and Hidden Cyclone and he exits the scene having been associated with some of the best and most popular horses around throughout his 16-year career.
