Meade's Golden winner for Mayo connections Golden Temple (12/1) got up close home under Sam Ewing to win the Egan Stone Kilbeggan Handicap Steeplechase over two and a half miles. A winner of three successive races in 2024 (two hurdles followed by a two-mile handicap at the Curragh on Derby weekend), the Galileo Gold gelding hadn't tasted success since then.  The six-year-old went on with longtime leader Rexem bypassing the final fence, and was guided through a narrow enough gap on the rail to prevail by a neck. After Tom Cooper's winner earlier on the card, this was a leveller for Mayo connections as Albert Dravins of the Spice Of Life Partnership is involved with Breaffy GAA, the club of Aidan O'Shea and Matthew Ruane (substitutes for Sunday's All-Ireland final) and this season's goalkeeping find Jack Livingstone. "He's a nice little fun horse, and he's after winning three or four for Albert (Dravins)," said winning trainer Noel Meade.  "He's a summer horse that wants fast ground. Hopefully if he gets in next week (Galway), he'll run again. "He might run over hurdles on Wednesday, or maybe a chase at the end of the week. I'd say it's more likely he'll run in a hurdle race."
