Noel Meade has given an update on School Boy Hours who picked up an injury in Saturday’s Randox Grand National.

The Paddy Power Chase winner, who got in as a reserve, made a bad mistake at the ninth (Valentine’s) and was pulled up after 2021 hero Minella Times (brought down) collided with him on landing.

Meade, who enjoyed better fortune when the progressive Lafayette landed yesterday’s Group 3 Alleged Stakes, remarked at the Curragh: “He's lame but he's okay. He made a mistake and must have come down steep and then Rachael's horse landed down on top of him.

“Sean thought he'd broken his pelvis or something so he pulled him up straight away.

“It's a pity because he was jumping great but it was very early on in the race. He seemed to have taken to the fences very well and seemed to be travelling great.

“He got a great break and had gone round pretty good but he had knocked the top off that one.

“Fairyhouse would be out for him. We want rain now for Diol Ker (in Monday's Irish Grand National).”
