Gaudeamus was the highlight of a double for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning when landing the Woodpark & Ballysheehan Studs Stakes at the Curragh on Friday night.

The filly claimed the Listed contest in good style, running out a comfortable two-length winner from The Real Thing.

Manning delivered his charge to lead a furlong-and-a-half out and she stayed on strongly to hold the late challenge of Con Collins' charge.

The pair secured the brace when Galilean produced a smart front-running performance in the concluding N.Conlan & Sons Maiden.

The son of Galileo set a good pace and stretched his field turning for home, keeping on strongly to score by two-and-a-half lengths from odds-on shot Hitchcock (5/6).

Emmet Butterly and Noel Meade teamed up for the first time and the partnership clicked instantly, delivering a double.

Butterly gained the biggest win of his career to date when Telemachus (13/2) ran out an easy winner of the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Derby.

The 17-year-old kicked the gelding into the lead just inside the two furlong marker and he soon pulled clear to beat Masamiyr by five-and-a-half lengths.

The apprentice went on to double up for Meade when 20/1 shot Sativa landed the Silken Thomas Handicap.

The filly also settled matters with authority, leading under two furlongs out and staying on strongly to score by a length-and-a-half from Kleinova.

The Ballydoyle colt battled well to get the better of Supposition inside the final furlong for a neck victory.

Vintage Year sprang a 25/1 shock in the Kildare Village Handicap when leading inside the final furlong for a cosy success.

The bookies were also cheering home the David Myerscough-trained Lilac Mist in the 1m2f Kildare Village Handicap.

Padraig Beggy gave the 33/1shot an enterprising ride, sending her on turning for home and holding the late challenge of Indalo Bay by half a length.
