Review WEXFORD 28TH OCT

Denis O'Regan was the star of the show at Wexford on Saturday, partnering the first treble of his career.

Noel Meade supplied two of the winners, courtesy of New Zealand imports Hard Scuffle and Irish Nation - both in the colours of Eamon Cleary.

Hard Scuffle (5/2f) opened his account in good style in the opening Whites Hotel Maiden Hurdle, leading before the last for a two-and-a-half length victory.

Irish Nation (7/2jf) battled gamely to prevail in the Slaney Horse Feed Maiden Hurdle, getting up close home to score by a length-and-a-quarter.

The Philip Rothwell-trained Mission Possible also received a strong drive from O'Regan to score in the Casey Enterprise Handicap Hurdle.

O'Regan had been narrowly denied on his only other mount when 20/1 shot Massini Magic collared 4/6f Abbeybraney close home in the Ellickson Engineering Novice Hurdle.

The winner was a first under rules for trainer Oliver Power, who has four horses in training at his base near Tallow.
