Midsummer next for Russian Soul The Midsummer Sprint Stakes at Cork is next on the agenda for Russian Soul following his encouraging return to action at the Curragh. The five-year-old enjoyed a superb start to his campaign by being placed in four lucrative events at Meydan's Dubai Carnival, but finished down the field in the Group One Al Quoz Sprint on World Cup night. Returning from a near two-month absence, Mick Halford's charge was beaten little over a length into fourth in the Greenlands Stakes and the trainer feels there is plenty to look forward to. "I was very pleased with how he ran and the plan now is to go to Cork for a five-furlong Listed race on June 16," said Halford. "He wouldn't have to come on a lot and we'll see how we get on next time. If all went well, we'd look towards the Sapphire Stakes back at the Curragh (June 29). "He's progressing all the way along, so we'll see where he ends up."
