Milenium fine after promising return

Davenport Milenium is set for a clash with Rooster Booster at Cheltenham next week following a satisfying return to action.

The seven-year-old was fourth to Solerina, beaten just over 13 lengths, in yesterday´s Grade One Hatton´s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

That was his first race since the Pertemps Christmas Hurdle at Kempton last December as he had been on the sidelines with a strained tendon.

Trainer Willie Mullins today reported Davenport Milenium, whose last win came

in the Grade One Emo Oil Champion Hurdle at Punchestown in April last year, to be fine and on course for the Tote Bula Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday week.

'He seems to be grand. I would have thought he´d have to run as good as that. I was happy enough with that,' said the County Carlow-based handler.

'The Bula Hurdle is on the agenda for the time being anyhow. That´s the plan at the moment. I just hope that he´s grand over the next few days.'
