Miller 1st reserve in 'Pitmens Derby' Leading fancy Lieutenant Miller is first reserve for Saturday's John Smith's Northumberland Plate. Connections of Nicky Henderson's charge now face an anxious wait to see if he gets into the race following a fine third in last week's Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting. As expected Tiger Cliff doesn't appear among the final declarations with the weights headed by previous winner Tominator (Graham Lee). Last year's hero Ile De Re also goes to post. Montaser is now favourite for David Simcock but has been drawn out in 20 while Chester Cup hero Address Unknown (15) and Ingleby Spirit (18) are both posted wide for Richard Fahey. Arch Villain has fared even worse in 22 but Godolphin representative Handsome Man is low and breaks from stall two under Robert Winston.
