Henry de Bromhead's Miss Doyenne (3/1) added to her impressive tally of success when landing the Donie Sheahan Memorial Irish EBF Mares Beginners Chase at Killarney.

Owned by Walter O'Connor's  (Envirogreen Housing Services Ltd), the six-year-old won a point-to-point and a bumper last year and was victorious in a Down Royal maiden hurdle on her previous outing.

Chasing Success at the First Attempt

Here, having tracked the leaders on her first chase start under Rules, she hit the front on the approach to two out in the two mile-ffve furlong contest and was ridden out to hold the rallying Affinity Rock by half a length.

Winning rider Mike O'Connor explained "It was very straightforward, she jumped really well and we went plenty fast early on, so I slotted in behind the leaders. She was straightforward and game.

"She jumped super and it is nice riding Henry's horss, as it is point-and-go really. It was a good performance and hopefully she will improve away."
