Misterah misses Irish 1000 Guineas

Marcus Tregoning today withdrew Nell Gwynn Stakes winner Misterah from Sunday`s Entenmann`s Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh.

But he said that there is still 'every chance' that Nayef will take his chance in the Tattersalls Gold Cup on the same card.

The trainer believes the ground will be too soft for Misterah, who finished sixth in the Sagitta 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last time out.

'She doesn`t run on Sunday,' he said. 'I don`t want to run her on bottomless ground and they have had a lot of rain. She could go for the Coronation Stakes next.'

Ladbrokes have put Queen`s Logic and Gossamer in as the 3-1 joint favourites for the 1000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The pair who contested favouritism in the build-up to the English 1000 Guineas are again heading the market for the Irish event.

Mick Channon`s Queen`s Logic will be bidding to gain some compensation after injury forced her out of the Newmarket Guineas at the last moment while Luca Cumani`s filly will be bidding to make amends after a poor run in that race.

Zenda, winner of the Poule d`Essai des Pouliches, is rated at a best priced 5-1 third favourite after being supplemented at a cost of 38,000 Euros today.

French filly Heat Haze, trained by Andre Fabre and Kevin Prendergast`s Wrong Key, who both finished behind Zenda at Longchamp are the other two supplementary entries for the one mile contest.

The 1000 Guineas seocnd and third, Snowfire from the John Dunlop yard and Sir Michael Stoute`s Alasha.
