Crescent Moon got off the mark in style when winning unextended in the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Gavin Cromwell ’s charge went to post a well-backed 7/4 favourite and cruised up to challenge at the second last, under Keith Donoghue.

The Spanish Moon filly went on over the last and Donoghue sat motionless as she recorded a two-and-a-half length win over Divilabother

“Just of late her work has come good with the sun on her back,” said Cromwell.

“I thought she had a chance here today and she showed up. We’ll see what the handicapper does and go from there.”
