More Races To Be Won With Tithonus Trainer Denis Hogan believes Tithonus has the ability to win a decent sprint in 2017 after improving by almost two stone this season. The five-year-old gelding began the campaign on a mark of 63 and a series of progressive performances saw him rise to a mark of 90. He won four handicaps from five to seven furlongs and was placed in three others, including when short-headed on his latest start in a 21-runner affair at Doncaster last month. "Tithonus went home on Saturday for a holiday. He won't be back in until January and we will have a look at all the sprint handicaps for him in the spring," said County Tipperary-based Hogan. "I was delighted with him this season. He has progressed well. I think he started the season off a rating of 63, and he has finished up on 90. "He has had a good season with four wins and three places from eight runs. "He will stay on the Flat when he is so competitive. He is improving away and we stay on the level for the meantime. "If he improves again over the winter he won't be far away from Listed class. There should be another nice pot in him. "Six furlongs probably suits him better, the trip is what might have got him beat at Doncaster."
